How low did you drop your 636?
I went up to the Brooksville twisties sunday, and turned up my dampening one turn harder, now I'm tip-toeing it. how far did you drop your 636? I think the 636 has to be the highest freaking half liter bike out there.

The lowering link dropped it 1". The dealer told me that's the lowest I could go without it hitting. I don't know how far they dropped it in the front.

I am tip-toes on mine. I'm 5'4"... Lowering it is not an option for me cause it robs me of cornering clearance. I just learned to deal with the fact that I am a short bald M-fer!

Oh whatever! I dropped my 636 4 inches and I have never bottomed out once! I take corners hard and speed bumps! Of course, I should mention, I weigh about 108lbs. But still, lowering your 636 is fine, i was not robbed of any clearance
You aint turnin that hard then..

I wanted to lower mine aswell.I even bought the lowering links.BTW if you need a pair I can sell them to you for 40, made of aircraft aluminum.Anyway once I learned that if I lower the bike I wont be able to take corners the same way, I gave up the lowering idea.I tip toe aswell. What I did ...I shaved the seat about a inch and a half.feels better now.DogBone adjust my suspenssion aswell. He is a realy nice guy and the bike handles better now.
wow, 4 inches. I was going to say my pegs were scraping sometimes on a stock height f4i. 4 inches woulda pressed the pegs to their limit and caused me to wreck.
RubberBurner: What's the preload(sag?) set at on the rear shock. If I can recall from some articles when you sit on your bike it should drop about 2 inches. I'll have to dig the article up (until dogbone or someone corrects this). So you adjusted the dampening one "turn" or one "click"?
