I have thought about it, and its pretty easy just get heat wrap for a header and go to town with it. The problem is it causes your pipes to corrade quickly. My left foot burns like hell on my rc some times so I just move it over more. I wont heat wrap mine cause I dont want to buy new headers often. A nice head sheild might help you out more!

You could always rap your feet and legs! ......Those RC's are known for heat.

I'm gonna put some on my exhaust...gets hot on long rides...will probably cool the entire thing down. I got a roll of header wrap at Automotive Engineering for like $40. I'm gonna get another one after i pay my tickets

if you are worrying about the inside wearing quicker because of the retained heat then have the inside ceramic coated. Not all that expensive, could do the outside also. Got my turbo pipes done few years back at Seminole Exhaust. Header, wrap around pipe and exhaust was $150.
