I've got the scorpio system as well. I wanted the phantom but it was over a $1000.00

It works really well. Doesn't have as great a range as advertised. But its pretty damn loud. I just recommend getting the waterproof remote. I got caught in some nast rain a few weeks ago and mine got all wet and is now inop. new remote is 99$

Heres my opinion on alarms.

From best to worse
Phantom,
Lo jack, but has no siren or sensors. It just have a GPS,that your local police, sherrif.or state trooper can track after you activate it.Also not all cop cars come with lowjack tracking divice, but each department do have cars with it equipt.(Info from my cop neighbor.

Scorpio, only think I dont like about this alarm is.
It does not have a flashing LED,and only comes with one remote.

...

The next 2,im not sure which ones better.
Gorilla
"Merlin" bike alarm from Viper.

You all know on alarms, you can have a few "upgrades"

and yes,any alarm is better than nothing.

Ask the people here who have had thier bikes stolen,if they had an alarm on it.I bet most of them dont.Any alarm or any of the security systems listed ablove cannot garentee 100% that your bike wont get stolen.

Scorpio is expensive, also, doen't work that well. It's supposed to be GPS compatible, but I've seen one on a bike, & it wouldn't let the bike start or it would kill the battery. So it was ripped out.

I have the Scorpio on my bike, & even though there is no led, it works pretty well. It comes with a 2-way pager, distance is ok, but I set the alarm as soon as I get off the bike. Comes standard with tilt & shock sensor. Optional are perimiter & ignition kill...I also have the ignition kill which work. On EFI, it will cut off the fuel to the motor, on carbs, it just kills the start button totally. The perimiter sensor gets annoyin if too sensitive, will detect anything movin. But the alarm itself is pretty loud, & will go off if someone moves it (you can set up your pager to vibrate & beep). You can also hook up the alarm so your lights flash as the alarm goes off, or have it on silent so just your pager goes off. It's all on what you want to do. Good investment for extra security...
