Best truck to haul bikes is the Dodge RAM HEMI...

Just Kidding... actually I am hating the HEMI right now cause the gas prices made me stop saying "sweeeet".

Choose wisely... In general SUV suck in Fuel comsumption. My sys Expedition with the ford 4.6 was getting 12.5mpg city)... that is worse than my HEMI RAM (14mpg city).

At the moment it is costing me over $70 for a full tank...
I would stick with a rice burner or a if you must go V8, go Chevy. I have a friend with a silverado getting 18 in the city 21 hwy...

They do make an extended cab although I have a standard so I don't know much about them. I have yet to have a problem with the Ranger, just make sure you keep up on oil changes and general maintenance, but I think that is true about any vehicle.

get an s-10 if u plan on putting it in the bed 1)b/c its not a very high suspension. 2) the tailgate cables come unhooked and make a lil ramp so u only have to lift it about a foot and 1`/2 before just pushing it in.

if your gonna tow a trailer chevy fullsize all the way. fords squat in the rear b/c of shitty leaf springs

I would not buy an new-ish S-10 at all....sister had one and I worked on it all the time cause the build quality was horrible. Ranger is much more the way to go for a half-size. If full-size, check out newer F-150's, Tundra's, and Titan's. Chevy trucks, from my experience both half and full-size, just show such poor build quality. Though, this is true for mostly any vehicle built by the big three.....comparing to Jap. stuff, of course.
