Default Fork issue!!!!!!!!! need advice ASAP

Hey guys i am about to go to deals gap and this past weekend i was cleaning my bike up and i heard a noise from the forks. When i press down on the forks it makes a clicking noise. I havn't heard this before. It could be just that i was not looking for it, but now since i have heard it, it will not stop. I took it for a spin and it rides the same. Does anyone know what this is or how to stop it or if it is not good to ride it. It is not loud or anything, but i just don't want any issues up at deals gap. I don't know if it will make a difference but i a 2004 triumph Daytona 600.

Also i pushed down on my buddies zx-6r and there is no noise. I don't know if that will help or not.

Any info would be great. Thanks

The actual valving should make noise when they slap back and forth as they work, but shouldn't make an audible noise, atleast not a very loud one. If it is the valving then I would say that the forks are maybe low on oil for some reason. Otherwise, I can't think of anything that would make an audible clicking noise other than something scraping or rubbing on the tubes of the forks.

I checked that, i didn't see anything. The bike is at a sorage unit so i will go back over there tomorrow and look harder. But it should be fine for a weekend of riding at deals gap, right? If so, then i will take it to the shop, it is getting close to the 4,000 mile service anyways.

The noise is when you push down on the forks and it recoils. I hear a clicking noise coming from forks. I am hoping it is something in the way that is making the noise. I did remove the plastics this weekend and it could be touching something now.

On the return trip up, that points towards the rebound valving, but always be a detective and look closely for things rubbing. If it is the fork oil/valving issue, then I wouldn't trust it at Deal's Gap until it was taken care of......that's just me.

My bad i must have worded it wrong. It is when i push down on it, is when it makes the noise not on the way back up.

That would be the compression valving then, if it is the valving.

the top nut for your triple tree needs to be tightened. they do become slightly loose every now and then. i thought it was the bearings in the triple tree but later found out they need to be tightened.
