Rider Down...Winter Haven
I arrived right as the helicopter was landing at about 1045am. Looked like the Dodge Ram quad cab pulled out in front of the bike. The bike hit the drivers side rear door and slid about 100 yards. The rider was wearing a helmet. They got him stable enough to life flight him out. We went by later at about 230pm and they were still investigating. I will post up when we get more info. Bike was a Lime Green Ninja 250 or 500. People like this make riders not want to ride. Why can they not pay attention to a bike?

but as for the "Why can they not pay attention to a bike?" part... i never understand this statement. people in cars crash into eathother all the time... if they can't see other cars and pull out in front of them. then how do you expect them to look out for bikes? its just never going to happen.
as bike riders we have to be the best of the best... ride to stay alive.

True, they do crash into other cars all the time too, but my question is why can't they just pay attention period, to cars and bikes. I can't say I am the best driver/rider in the world, but in 10 years of operating motor vehicles, 4 wheeled and 2, I have only been in one accident when I got rear ended at a stop light. Not because I am the best driver ever, but because when I am driving or riding, I do just that, drive or ride, and watch where the hell I am going! It really don't understand what is so hard about watching where you are going.
In any case, my prayers are sent... Hope he pulls through.

+1 All it takes is an extra second...one more glance to notice...I think people are just in too much of a hurry. If we all take an extra second before turning onto a road, I'm sure we'd all see a lot more and avoid that "I just didn't see him..." situation.
