it actually has a slower 1/4 time.
less HP than the Kawi
slower 0-60 than the Kawi

5MPH slower top speed than the Kawi

but is the fastest?

in a 1/4 mile maybe but the 636 came in like 4th... (don't have the test in front of me)

check it out... i have read a lot of test but i like how the master bike test is run.

pick up this month's cycle world and read about it. i first saw some posts about it a few months back on the zx10 boards because the 06 came in 2nd this year and everyone was all pissed. so i started looking around and i really like the format of this test over all the others I've seen.

the 636 will hopfuly step up next year when the new bike comes out.

well is this test only 3 bikes make the final.(the winner of each class) one for the 600s one for the 1000s and one for the middle which was the 1000cc twins and the gixxer 750.

the 675 came in 3rd overall in the final but really close to the times 10r was running(which was the fastest 1000 4cyc overall), the 10 came in 2nd to the aprilla(sp) that won the whole test.

all in all its a good read because they also start with about 20 riders and only the ones that run the best times get to move on to run the final 3 bikes to find out what the master bike of that year is.

it looks like a badass test with factory techs there to set up each bike to the track and riders.... its not you normal mag shoot out crap where whatever bike they like wins.... this test is on lap times.

I actually have the cycle world 2006 july magazine infront of me.

When I went to Boarders to buy it,there was 3 other magazines that did a 600 shoot out (im sure its the same testors)

The 675 was not considered the fastest.

0-60 3.2 sec
1/4 10.76 @129.31
HP 106.99 @12500 rpm
tq 47.49 ft lbs
top speed 155 mph

ZX6R
0-60 3.0
1/4 10.58 @132.36
hp 109.43 bhp @ 13210 rpm
tq 46.46 ft lbs
top speed 160

Heres the ups they said on the ZX6R that I like.
Killer torque/great top end power
drag racers delight

The 675 won the best "all around bike"
The 636 came in second (I dont see 4th place)
And almost won in 05 but it had "stability issues on the track. No symptoms this time though"
