My first North Run I had some issues with that area as well though, so I feel your scare on that one. : )

When I came up to that same spot,I slowed down.
I saw 2 tire marks in the grass.Looks like someone took a short cut,any one want to claim them?

The beginning of the ride where everyone seemed like they needed to get towards the front was nuts.. had like 6-7 bikes with maybe a bike in between them leanin through a turn and braking hard into it.. looked insane, glad everyone calmed down.
I'd leave a little room coming into the turns, my favorite part of a corner is braking into it/downshifting and throwin her down into the turn,

Im glad I didnt..
I need to learn the roads first, before I can take them faster.
A few hills,I was scared to take fast, cause I wasnt sure if I was coming up on a 4 way stop or what.
I have no problem staying with the slower croud for a few runs.

I like acceleration more than top-end speed, ~140 lb/ft of torque goes a long way towards keeping me happy
