what all would be involved in setting up a track?
i was on the look for 30-40 acres of land out in the parrish area. undeveloped of course. i think it'd be great to have a track so much closer then jennings, especially for the south guys, cause we all like taking turns, its probably why most of us still have bikes. i've just been trying to work out the finer details to it all before i go on a mad hunt on land. like hospital inthe vicinity, rural area as to not disturb others, and of course, enough room for some run off and what the insurance expendatures will be.

the reason jennings is in the middle of nowhere is because of sound restrictions. look at sunshine it has to shut down at 10-11pm. jennings you're not supposed to fire "race engines" until 9am. first session is at 9:15.
you will need a bunch of things the just land and a track. for private use you could get away with that (man that would be sick) for a track open to the public its alot more complicated.
miller motorsports park in UTAH(how expensive can land in utah be?)cost like 3-5million to build. and is supposed be be one of the best motorsports pak in the US. AMA ran on it this year for the first time. there was a rumor going around the jennings forum about moving the US gp there and/or it being testing grounds for moto gp bikes.
i think it would be cooler if we had 2 US gp races in the same 2-3 week period. even though i would like to see one on the east coast(road atl. or road america). i'd be happy with going out to utah for the weekend.(man that sounds yuppie
)

I believe Jennings has over $1million in just asphault on their track. I forget the exact number. You have to use special asphault material and also don't forget about clearing that much land to begin with.
Good luck on getting a permit for the track too. You'd be best off trying in Polk county out in the boondocks.
