Viewpoint: Motorcycle helmets can do more harm than good
vertical velocity = up and down movement..you may fly off the bike at 100fps, but your vertical decent may only be 30fps
cumulative velocity = vertical velocity + horizontal velocity + depth velocity.
basalar injury = what the HANS device now prevents in NASCAR.
G's = magnification of weight..you should know this marine man...
exert = force applied.
physiologist = someone who studies physiology...the science of the body i believe.

well only take something like 14lbs of pressure to break a neck or some small amount or pressure like that. so if your helmet reachs 2-3 g's it is very likely. however i always hear my helmet.

Anyone can buy a bike without any former experience. Getting a permit to ride a bike isn't that hard either. I didn't realize until the other day that when you apply for a permit, the DMV doesn't run your name through the database. Only when you go to get your actual motorcycle licence do they do that. I only know this because a friend of mine has had his permit for awhile and went to get the licence and was told his driving licence had been suspended in Chicago over 5 years ago so they couldn't issue him a motorcycle DL. It kinda makes me wonder instead of bitching about helmet laws and how many people have died from not wearing one, why doesn't someone make it just a bit harder to stop anyone from walking in and getting a motorcycle?
