Your going to hear both sides of it - my take is get a snell approved and your in the green. Theres the cool carbon fiber one in Craigslist for 350......

I have just a plain old Icon flat black helmet with the single air scoop on top (which I can close so it looks perfectly round). I like them cause it takes 30seconds to change visors from my mirror one to my clear one, And also thats its comfortable as hell even with a nice snug fit. From what I've seen/ read Icon is a good brand. Definitly not the best out there but not the worst thats for sure.

it's got the dot and snell approval so that's covered. I figured there may be better, but alot of it seems like comfort and cosmetic choices. I like the vents and everything, plus the look is cool as hell. What's up with the wing/handle on the back? at first look it looks like a handle but is there another reason for this? My current helmet is sooooo old it wouldn't recognize and air vent if one was drilled into it. Icon has a bad ass jacket as well that I may get, to update from my current leather jacket. If you go to the home page for the link I gave you'll see the pic of a guy in the jacket and this helmet.....wicked. Now if icon makes total junk, like ssautocrome does for turbo manifolds then I don't care how good it looks.

I know there are preferences because everyone head is shaped alittle different, and some want a snugger fit than others, but all that aside, the actual craftsmanship of the helmet is what I want to know about. does the visor fly off at high speeds, if you look back like when changing lanes, does the visor open up ( a current problem with the old helmet ), does the liner fall out of the helmet, this type of stuff. Thanks for the help.

Im a believer of the raitings, and not name brand.

I have 2 helmts,HJC and an Icon mainframe "Legion" The icon fits tighter. The only problem it has giving me is the visor fogging up.

ICON is made by either KBC or HJC.

Let me know what helmet you want.Theres a site who will beat retail prices, and shippings included.

For $350.00 you can find a shoei and you'll be much happier with that!

I've never worn a icon alliance but there has to be some good things about shoei since the majority of riders use them Whatever feels right on your head, I guess...
