Default Buying myself a B-Day gift next month, but do I step up to the liter class???

Alright,
I've been out of the bike scene for a while now and I want back in. Third time's a charm right? I've ALWAYS had Honda's and swear by them. On the same note, I've always had an F4i (2 of them now) and have never really gotten to ride anything else. So next month I am going to buy myself another bike but I am a tad intimidated by the liter bikes. Are they THAT much more powerful (I know 50hp + pver my F4i) to where they are scary in corners. I debated a new 600RR but when I sold my F4i I was riding the piss out of it to the point I was waiting for it to go as fast as I wanted. I want something that will get out of its own way but also corner like a dream since that is where it will be living most of the time, fast straights do nothing for me unless it is linked with two corners. I'm only 155lbs soaking wet, is a 1000 just too much bike? The last thing I want is to worry about wheel spin coming out of a corner cause I like to exit hard on the throttle. Should I jump off the Honda wagon and opt for the 750 :cough"GSX-R:cough: (please say no).

Most of the guys I know with liter bikes are 185lbs +, if there are any guys my size that ride one of these bikes I want to hear your opinions as well as anyone elses in general. I REALLY have my eyes set on an '05 REPSOL replica but I want to know personal experiences with liter bikes first.

i dont have to much experience on the different bikes and class. i do know one thing though, from you riding the older f4i's have you given the newer 600s a try? if not opt for the 750, IMO i think it is by far the best all around bike for the streets, that is buyable by the public. you will have room to learn and grow, and still be able to hit the corners as you stated, but the newer liter bikes are so tiny now adays.

but remeber that is just my idea, i have ridden liter bikes, but since they were not mine, i rode them with the upmost respect for the owner of the bikes. so they were never ridden even to 50% of what they are capable of doing

dude... just get the 1000

you will love it.

I'm not into the 05 1000rr's but the 06 seems to be a step up. go with that if you want to stay honda. my .02 about the 750 is why bother? its kinda like going with a halfassed 1000. just man up and buy the 1000 in the first place or stick with 600 class.

I don't think the new 600RR is THAT much better than my '01 f4i. I've drag raced a few and only been beaten by half a bike length if that. I am thinking about the 750 but I really really love the way a Honda sits. They give you a more upright position that is a lot more comfortable IMO than being in a full race position.

the 05 and 06 aren't identical? damnit, i don't think they make an 06 repsol replica and I don't want to shell out the $ for old technology just to get the looks of a factory race bike. I'm gonna have to find some reviews on the 05-06.

don't be scared... the new bikes are pussy cats... really. just don't get stupid with it and your good.

you have to be a tiny bit more careful with the big bikes but that's really only cause your going so much faster. without trying as hard. (unless your going to race it) I'd get the 1000.

and yeah they changed the 1000rrs this year... new, better bike. at least all the reviews say so. really its only like 15lbs less and 7 or 10 more hp. but I'm not 100%sure about the numbers but its something like that.
