depends on the person. a clutch wheelie you know when its going to come up the power wheelie is just that, its going to come up all of a sudden. i dont have to much experience with them though ,just thats my 2 cents

Power wheelie is more controllable for someone just starting out in my opinion...however a clutched wheelie is the quickest most efficient way to bring the bike up.

i just started practicing tonight, im alot more comfortable doing a power wheelie cause once it comes up i feel a little more in control as far as letting off the throttle or applying more.

power wheelies are a good way to start, where as a clutched wheelie you'll need a little more experanice, and know how to catch it on the rear brake

I am not a wheelie guru.... but...

I do both.
On the GSXR it depends on when I want to begin the wheelie.
If it is a relatively low speed start, I will throttle it up in first, sometimes second.
Then go through the gears.

If it is a relatively higher speed start, I will clutch it up, rock it back, then go through the gears.

Clutching it harder on the drive train...
But honestly, who cares.
