Unhappy Bee stings suck :(

I was out on the bike today, and coming through a corner on Crenshaw Lake Rd. As I was leaning and looking through the turn, a huge bee hit me and dug his stinger right into my neck area. I did my best to maintain control of my bike until I slowed down in a stop.

I was probably only doing about 40 mph when I hit the bee. I went to slow down, so I stopped in the nearest pull-off area of the road... there just so happened to be a lot of gravel and glass on the side because it was a construction area. Low and behold, as I jacked the front brake to come to a complete stop and hop off my bike to tend to my bee sting, my rear wheel slid around in the gravel and I dropped the bike It was a combination of the gravel and me not being able to have proper footing on the ground. (damn being short!)

The fairing is a little scratched up and the clutch got knocked out of position. That was my first bee-sting ever And it's STILL burning.

A couple of cars stopped and the people helped me pick the bike up (since I was desperately attempting to lift it while tears streaming down my face), and take the bee stinger out of my neck. I was so concerned with my poor bike hitting the ground. First time for everything I guess

Indeed. Good job keeping things together, and not ending up worse off. Hope you feel better.

Damn, that sucks and I'm glad you are alright. That is the first time I've ever heard of a bee attack while riding.

Yep that's probably the area. It's a real wide corner. I was heading TOWARDS 41 so I pulled off to that area where they are building a new gated neighborhood. When you drive by, you can see all of the glass, dirt, and gravel. Wish I had better footing, the bike might not have fallen.
