Default GSXR tech question...

Rode to class today, normal driving, everything's good. On my way home I noticed the speedo isn't working. Brand new bike, 10k miles. What's wrong with it? Anyone suggest anything for me to check?

yeah I know. Bought the bike mid August and it's got like 9500 miles on it.

Check the cover that houses the primary drive (Left hand side... Right in front of where your foot goes).
It also has the speedo sensor connected to it.
Sometimes the center bolt backs itself out an breaks the cover.
No real mechanical damage... just looks like crap and your speedo stops working.

I pulled the cover off and nothing looks backed out or broken or anything. Here's a pic.

If it were broken, it would have been obvious...
Sorry for the size, but here are a few pics of mine from a while ago.
