In Black of course

I can get a set TMD for $1850.... what do you think?

Marvic wheels Piuma magnesium wheels

Marvic lightweight magnesium wheels for closed course competition. Top teams in AMA road racing, as well as GP racing use Marvic wheels. Wheels are stocked in popular widths. Special orders can be accommodated. Wheels are finished in either a Black or White Powder Coat. Some wheels are available in a gold chromate finish for painting by the end user

Wheels are listed by part #. We can provide matched sets for most applications, and can provide mixed sets, such as GSXR series front, and SV rears for Suzuki SV racers who have swapped out the front suspension.

Wheels are supplied with necessary adapters and cush drive. Valve stems are included. The front stem is a 90-degree model on most applications.

PERFORMANCE - We have documented improvement in both ET and MPH in drag race applications. For a Hayabusa, one can expect to see your ET drop by 0.15 sec. MPH should increase by 2mph. This is the equivalent to about 3HP more in the motor.

STRENGTH - Marvic wheels are among the toughest on the Market. Our current record for the highest HP bike using Marvic wheels is 580hp. We are looking for more.

WARRANTY - All Marvic wheels purchased directly from an Authorized Dealer are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 1 year.

I like marvic wheels, but (in my opinion) Magnesium is too soft for the street. They say that Mag wheels are good for only one race season. I'd go for some nice Aluminum wheels. A little heavier, but alot more durable. You wont have to worry about a pot hole or something in the road dinging your rim.

Does it affect you that much that some random guy 1500 miles away went and paid his own money for a 1000?
Do we really have to fight over who uses the back brake or not?
Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

what about the carbon fiber wheels? a guy on the last ride had some on a 04 gixxer and said he loved them.

any idea on weights of factor wheels vs. aftermarket one? seems to me like the newest line of bikes have some pretty light wheels stock.

The engineers succeeded in achieving a further weight reduction of up to 20% whilst improving the stability of the wheel at the same time. A forged aluminum front wheel sized at 3.5 x 17'' e.g. for a Ducati 998R now weighs only 7.5lb completely ready for fitting. The weight optimization is even more striking for the back wheels: In this case for example the 6 x 17'' wheel of a Yamaha R1 was reduced to slightly more than 11.5lb.
Average weight - "10Y" spoke Forged Aluminum
Front - 3.5" x 17" = 8.0lb
Rear - crush drive w/sprocket carrier - 6.0" x 17" = 12.5lb

Average weight - "10Y" spoke Forged Magnesium
Front - 3.5" x 17" = 5.0lb
Rear - crush drive w/sprocket carrier - 6.0" x 17" = 8.0lb
