Rider Down - Miguel Guzman - RIP

Miguel Guzman of Orlando Florida died yesterday riding with me and a few other friends on Ozello Trail near Crystal River. It was our first ride together though I knew him for a number of years from saturday night street racing in cars. I didnt even know he had a bike until he PM'd me on this forum, he gave me his number and said he wanted to join me on one of our sunday rides. He said (sarchastically) he wanted to kick my ass on the bike since I used to beat him all the time when we were in cars.
We left at around 8:30am and rode into the afternoon, I was leading most of the time and I was constantly watching my mirrors for him and his very slow friend on a Busa. I saw him cross the yellow lines 3 times.... After the second time I mentioned to him to be careful, slow down, ride your own pace, dont try and keep up with us in the front. He crossed over again and when we stopped to fuel up I pulled him aside and told him he really should take it easy, rights are a bitch for most guys, including me, slow down well in advance, and if you feel your going wide, push on the right handlebar, and turn your head, the bike will lean and you will make the corner. He acknowledged and said "I know about countersteering" I said good cuz crossing the line like that is a good way to get killed.
The next curvy road we did, not even 5 mintues later, he crashed and died. He started to run wide, saw a car coming, locked the brakes and hit a telephone pole headfirst. He died instantly, and didn't suffer. I was leading and didnt see anything happen, it wasnt until 4 or 5 corners later that I noticed there was no one behind me, and I turned around.
He was 28, newly engaged to his longtime girlfriend, and in the proccess of closing on his first house. His friend on the Busa knew him since they were kids. He says he is selling his bike, he cant ride anymore.
I have only crossed the line 3-4 times and everytime I do, I consider one of my nine lives lost. I usually and so mad at myself, I just go straight home. I wish he would have listened to me.
Bottom line, do not ride over your head. Listen to those with more experience, they are trying to prevent this from happening. You can't "win" out there on the street, but you sure can lose.
R.I.P. Miguel. I am so sorry this happened.

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”

WHOA...what happened to being considerate in these types of threads?
First of all (blueboost), if you don't have anything nice to say NOR do you even RIDE then don't even COME to the Bike Tech forum!!!
As for Frank and Forge...they know better but luckily I'm not a mod because those posts would've been deleted in order to show some respect to the people who might have known this guy.
