Default 150 CC Bikes??

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on 150cc bikes??
Do you think they're good enough for a beginner such as myself to travel around town with? Or are they a waste of time & money.. I really plan on taking my time with my first 1 and I have found a few newer bikes with small power-plants for a small amount of money.. I know I will probly sell it or just buy another 1 later but i really believe this could be a sort of nice "stepping stone" to begin my interest with motorcycles.

Also: Any Thoughts on-

I've never heard of that bike, a quick serach shows one on eBay though. Im guessing it's Korean or Chinese import. This is not necessarily a bad thing but finding parts for it could be problematic. For my money, I'd rather get something with more proven post sale support. Looks pretty heavy for such a small motor.

As for a the motor size, I suppose that all depends on what type of riding you plan to do and where you plan to do it. If you were in a colege town like Gainesville and had little need for the interstate or similar roads, it'd be just fine. Around Tampa I spose it could be okay if you were very selective about where you rode. The larger arterial roads have a lot of trafic and being able to accelerate reasonably quickly is nice from a safety perspective.

I'm certainly glad to see someone considering the smaller end of the scale for a first bike, but I tend to think a 150 might be a bit low if you plan to ride on the road with normal Tampa traffic. I haven't ridden one though so I could definitely be wrong about that.

Not sure about the 150cc bikes.... are they 2-strokes?

You may want to look at the new Kawasaki Ninja 650 R, or an SV650.

ninja 250, 2999.00 new (I think). You can find one in the 1500.00 range used.
capable of 100 mph and get 60+ mpg.
