Battery Dead
OK so as some of you know my bike is up for sale b/c I need to pay for graduate school. I have it just sitting in my garage on a battery tender which is supposed to hold a charge on the battery. Well I've gone out to start it a couple times and nothing. Light and gauges turn on and tach bounces to redline and back but when I flip the ignition I get no fuel pump turn-on and then obviously it doesn't crank.
Tried to jump it with a car battery and nothing either. The light on the tender is green but once I go to turn it on it turns red. Is my battery dead? Its practically brand new is it possible to die due to lack of use?
Everything on the bike is perfect, it ran fine about 1 1/2 weeks ago when I rode it for a little while so I know it can't be anything mechanical. Thanks for the help. I would hate for somebody to come look at my bike and think that I'm trying to screw them or something b/c it doesn't start!

How long has it sat? And yes this is prob a dead battery, get a better one. This happens in all vehicles, it sits for a long period, it dies.
make sure your connections on your battery are on tight.. on the old one and the new one when you get it.. i had an issue with a loose positive cable and i thought i had a huge wiring problem on my hands.

Update...not that it really matters to anybody but I hooked it up to a LIVE battery this time and she started right up. I took it for a spin just to warm it up and give it some use and damn in just 2 weeks I had started to forget how much fun it is. I'm gonna miss having a bike
