TIRES !!! Tires all depend on how much money you have how often you want to replace them... The reason stock bikes come with dunslops is because they are a hard compound which means positives and negitives positive they will last forever stunters love them to do rolling burnouts cause they are hard spin well and dont heat up and stick while spinning new riders also love them because a new rider will never put a bike into a turn hard enough to make a dunlop slip out where another tire wouldn't a more experianced rider on the other hand will there's alot more than just leaning the bike into a curve to make it stick. Personally I ride piolet sports I do alot of endo's and have the money to replace the quite often cause they are so soft they will stick in 50 degree weather right out of the garage in a 50 mph endo but they are real soft which means they will wear out fast.. if you want an inexpensive semi soft tire the Metzler M1 is a great all around tire Perrelli Diablo is a little better and a little more money it's all in how you're gonna ride the bike are you riding it a ton of miles to and from work if so go with a dunslop is it in the garage like mine where when you take it out you take it out to run the twisties with 20 other bikes and ride the hell out of it then yeah get a soft compound expensive tire.... are you a stunter if so run a soft front and a hard back... i'm sure most will agree that understand differant riding styles everyone doesn't do the same thing with their bike...

Dude, sounds like you need to chill out some. You've had that bike less than a month, already wrecked it, and are still talking about doing group rides with other people through the twisties. Have you even taken the MSF class yet or even gotten your license?

Maybe it was your tires but I guarantee you there are people who ride MUCH faster than you who use Dunlops without going down.

Mine seem to be doing much better today, its much warmer than the times it did slip. Maybe the surface temp was just too damn cold. I was on the brakes pretty hard into corners today and it felt a lot better, not squirley at all.

chill out? whats wrong w/ me going through some twisties w/ some friends? im staying w/ in my limits and taking things step by step. if you would re-read the thread you would see that i did not go down while going through twisties. it was at the corner of my house while i was leaving on a cold day. i was doing at most 10mph and the bike just slid out from underneath me. i was not acting stupid nor speeding but i suppose shit happens.

im sure there are people out there that can ride much faster than me even on bald dunlops but as far as im concerned i do not feel comfortable on them anymore since that was not the 1st time i felt the bike slipping for no reason.

also im not "talking" about going on group rides, i "am" going on group rides w/ friends and they feel totally comfortable riding w/ me.

dont take me as another one of those 16yr old kids that likes acting stupid on a bike. im extremely responsible which is why i plan on switching these shit tires for my own comfort instead of running the risk of the same thing happening again.
