One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”

So about $20K before you start adding all the little things here and there that eventually get expensive (suspension, drive train, clutch, etc.).
It get's up there pretty quick.
Now throw in the labor and parts (cranks, rods, bearings, machining, etc.) associated with the builds and rebuilds and it gets ugly.

I think what Cecil is missing is that when you build a Horsepower bike for the TRACK you get "X" number of runs, lets say 100 for giggles. Well that is only 25 miles on the road at heavy boost, or roughly two trips across the Howard Frankland. Quit riding it every where on the road and keep it on the track if you want to keep it together longer.
SL2....NO horsepower is cheap. You can add the power cheap but you can't keep the motor together cheap. That is what Frankie was referring to by going cheap, adding horsepower but not beefing anything up to hold the power. I spent a whopping $1100 on my turbo set up, but I got $3k in the motor to handle the extra HP (and still need more).
