2006 Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 vs 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14
I would not consider either of these bikes as "superbikes" There fast in a straight line but they will not handle for shit in the corners. I heard someone coin the phrase "Hyperbike" that sound more like what these bikes are. I don't know... call me crazy but the Kawi ZX14 is starting to grow on me. I just hate what these bikes stand for. When ever you talk to someone who does not know much about motorcycles they know the name Hyabusa and they think that bike is the best in the world.

my first bike was 500lbs and i enjoyed throwing it around... truth is it was more fun to ride on the street than the 10 because you had to ride it more... these light bikes just do whatever to tell them. they are almost to fast to be fun on the street... just point and streer.
I'd like to ride a zx14 or a busa thru some twistie and see who they do.
i really don't think they can be as bad as people say, hell I've seen vids of gold wings draging floor boards and side bags. they have to handle at least that good.

This will take people with skills to ride these bikes through the corners. I bet you 80% of sales of these bikes go to squids who don't even where a helmets

I think this discussion will be more intersting once the new Busa comes out. Not that I have a preference between the 14 and the Busa or Kawi vs Suzuki, but I do like it when manufacturers compete by upping the ante!
If I had to choose between the two today, I'd go with the 14... but then that may change once the new Busa comes out?

well of course.. hell i think 80% of all the bikes sold go to kids trying to look cool or over the hill guys trying to look cool during there mid life crap.
even i got my first bike thinking it would be fun to ride around... just happens to be it isn't any fun to just ride around. so i had to learn how to hit some north runs without killing myself going fast enough to enjoy it.

Man, whoever said Busa's wont corner have never ridden with Cecil. And i'd like to see the 14 that "murdered" 4 busa's. Sorry, the numbers are so close that it will be up to the rider. Congrats for Kawasaki to make a bike that will keep up with the 99 era Busa......Hell, it took them long enough.
I rode with 2 14's at Deals gap. They looked better in person, at least in my rear view mirrors.................
