Default Running Rough

Alright, so tonight I went out to go for a ride. Just around the neighborhood, nothing very far because it is cold as hell out but I felt like going for a ride. So the bike starts up and idles fine...takes it a couple mins longer to heat up but no prob. So I go out for my ride, it accelerates nearly perfect through first but when I shift to 2nd or anything higher, it starts sputtering and even stalling after about 5k rpms. I had to put it on full choke just to keep it running. I was out for a ride last night and it was running perfectly. Do you think it has something to do with the cold weather? Any input would be appreciated. BTW its a '97 CBR600. Thanks guys.

Damn skippy they do. But I'm just wondering if it's because of the cold weather and if anyone else has ever had that problem.

Eh, I think I'm ok. It just seems to be that it's because it's so cold out. It was running fine yesterday so I don't think that somethings wrong. I guess I was more or less asking if that's normal or if other people have the same problem.

Well, the problem wasn't the cold weather. It's sputtering like crazy when I give it gas and even is stalling out when I put the clutch in. In order to keep it from stalling I have to nearly full choke it and then it idles at like 4k rpms. Does anyone think it could be bad plugs, someone I was talking to said it might be? It's weird that Tuesday night it was running fine and then Wednesday night it was running like shit. Any ideas anyone?

PM Excerpt:

Start with the basics: Are your filters and plugs in good working order?
If your fuel and or airfilter get clogged or excessively dirty it will have adverse effects. Plugs crap out as well.

How do the carbs look?
Maybe you just need a good maintenance to clean a few things up.

Not sure if this is helpful at all...

Well, I changed my plugs and cleaned the air filter and NOTHING. Still runs just the way it did before. Revs up fine in neutral but when in gear and getting on it, it spits and sputters. This sucks
