Angry Almost went down ALMOST.

So i was riding home earlier on fowler right before Bruce b downs when some older lady in front of me comes to stop pretty fast almost locking her brakes up. So i downshifted and just eazed on the front brakes a little when all the sudden they locked up( I think that there may be a spring inside that broke b/c usually as soon as you eaze on the breaks you will hear the click but mine didn't click they just locked up) and jurked the wheel hard to the left almost sending me into the pavement. I instantly released the front brake tapped the rear and shifted my weight hard to my right side sending me back up i was probably just inches away from the ground. If i would have gone down i probably wouldn't be here to write this message b/c it was really wet and the jeep next to me wouldn't have had enough time to stop if i would have went down. He clearly would have ran me over. I'm glad i didn't get hurt. It's strange how my brake just stoped working like that. The ppl in the jeep thought for sure i was gonna go down and there was nothing they could do. No damage was caused and I avoided an accident my bike didn't even touch the ground. It was really close and it all happend so fast. I just thank god that things didn't go the way they seemed they where gonna go. From now on i will only use the back break even when its raining b/c of some freak accident and my break fucking up it all most costed me my life.

Be careful.... the dowside to such fabulous technology in bikes as that they are often unforgiving... the breaks are very responsive... be careful.

Glad you managed to keep the rubber side down

Amazing! Back brakes in the rain = high sides. At least you can recover from a locked up front tire, but a locked up back one'll send you flying.

i dont think your brakes broke i just think you hit a slipery part on the road since it was rainning. when its rainning is the only time i use my rear and then its only a little.

how old is the front tire and what kind?

glad you didn't go down

nah the rear with high side you some day if you don't watch out....

I'm sure your just used to doing it and don't get off the back while your still slid out very far. next time your sliding side ways just jump off the back in the middle. bad shit should happen

Because physics are different on American bikes than Japanese bikes. Is this kinda like how toilets flush differently in the southern hemisphere?
