Slip-On vs. Full exhaust... higher % gain with full system.
Advancing the timing... pro's & con's exist, depends on where you are trying to gain power.
Jet-Kit... fuel is good

One school of thought is "If it runs good... leave it alone." However, I do not typically subscribe to that school of thought.

Assuming you are talking about the '99 CBR 600, my guess is any performance modifications will yeild minimal gains and may introduce more greif than good.

However, if you decide to do some mods...a little power gain somewhere in the RPM band with a slip and a jet-kit sounds reasonable.

If you are doing it for fun, more to tinker than really gain performance, than have-at-it.
Those are fairly simple mods that are kinda fun to do.

Else, my 2 cents says leave well enough alone.
Next thing you know you will have some crazy HP bike that never runs, a thin wallet and a bunch of gray hair.

If you get a slip-on dont do anything else. If you get a full exhaust, then go ahead and add a jet kit and advance the timing +4 deg. With a slip-on the other mods wont yeild as much HP.

But I'm with Cecil. If you start tinkering with your bike, before you know it you'll have a crazy HP bike that never runs. Although currently mine is running. I think Cecil and I are alternating our run times. LOL

I think 1-2hp at best.
But, I think your paying more for the looks and the sound when you get a slip on.
Personally, I cant stand the way stock cans look, and it is alittle more fun to actually hear your bike scream when you get on it...just dont get a D&D can...they sound like shiat.

If it's anything like my old Honda, and I'm sure it is, you'll DEFINITELY want a jet kid. Hondas come lean from the factory, so opening up the exhaust and/or airbox will introduce a big time flat spot normally.
