your kidding right......i bet they all have a purpose. look at the progression in bike front ends from the old GSXR's/Kawi's had a flat, wide front with those two ugly headlights. look at the bikes from 10 years ago then look at bikes from 5 years ago...look at today's bike you can see the aero changes smaller/narrower more angular designs

perfect example 05 GSXR1000 the front maynot be the most visually appealing out there but it is aerodynamic as well as the back(tail) section

look at the new ZX6R all new aero package making tommy hayden a contender he got clocked at daytona doing a 178mph on a supersport bike(BPU 600) i'm glad sum jap guy had a good idea

And they are still bricks compared to the busas front end, aerodynamically speaking of course, there is a pretty good writeup floating around that compared wind tunnel results between the busa and all of the popular streetbikes...while the gixxer 1000 may be more aerodynamic than past offerings, it is not the most ideal of designs and to me is a turnoff. I do like the ZX/YZF front ends though, just I do not really care for the rest of the GSXR lineup. There is a reason the hayabusa is still faster on topend than the gixxer 1000..while also sporting less HP I am talking about both bikes being unrestricted of course. Although during a rollon if the Gixxer guy is on his game, he willpull on the busa..because in actuality they are pretty close.

top end hands down... the key to the busa's aero is the fact that you(the rider) can fit nicely tucked down behind that big areodynamic front....on my 1k on the track at 140mph my suit balloons up like a parachute, because of a lack of wind protection and i'm a big guy...big guy little bike
little guy big bike

busa's are great bikes for people to slam, stretch, and boost. but the look is becoming dated....same bike since when 2000? 07 needs a new busa, maybe something that will hang with the new 1300 kawi....
