Default WTF!? Alarm question

What the hell? Yesterday I installed my alarm system. I got a Clifford GP500 (thanks Adam) and it was installed with relatively easily. I followed intructions to the T and double checked every wire, etc. Put everything back on the bike, started her up and the alarm worked flawlessly all last night, all day today.... That is untill I was riding home tonight. I got into my neighborhood, just driving about 20 mph and straight. All of the sudden my alarm chirps and lights flash as if the alarm were activated. Wtf? Next thing I know my alarm comes on... as I'm driving down the road... (One funny thing about is I came up from behind a car and flashed my brights in a systematic fashion and the car got out of my way hahahaha) ANYWAY I had to drive it to my house at 1030pm with the siren blaring, rush inside, got the remote and turned it off. NOW, even with the alarm off, I put the key in the ON position and the headlight and gauge cluster lights and tach all come to life, except that I don't hear the fuel pump prime up, it doesn't crank, and won't start. I'm SOL if I don't figure this out cause I have to be at work at 8am tomorrow. Thanks for any help guys.

I guess it wasn't toooo bad if I think about it... I got to skip work to work on my toy. =) I'll just keep looking at it that way otherwise I may shoot myself. Troubleshooting owned me from 9am to 530pm.

*sigh*..... I'm opening myself up to ridicule here... lol... Oh well.

So my shit wouldn't crank over... I spent a couple hours last night troubleshooting... threw in the towel at 2am. Started at it again at 8am... Trouble shooted the wiring again for a few hours... So I got fed up with and removed the whole alarm system, wired everything back to stock. STILL did the same thing... So I take a breather... search my for my owner's manual, and used that trouble shooter... It said "If the gauge cluster says "CHEC", then the ignition switch must be on (the red switch for your right thumb), which it was... and it also has to be in neutral.........WHICH IT WASN'T DAMMIT!

So I stick it in neutral and it works as supposed to. This is where I stepped away from the bike in total fury because I removed the whole damn alarm system because of my IDIOCY and forgot to put it in neutral and NEVER Though about it. SO I RE-INSTALL the alarm, go to start it... NOW, whenever I pulled the clutch lever in, it automatically would crank over even without pushing the starter button. I accidentally crossed a wire, which took me forever to figure out. So finally, at 530 it was all done with...

I STILL don't know why the alarm went off while I was driving though. I tried to make it go off when it was on, and it didn't do it. So I don't know what the hell happened.

If you're wondering how I could be so stupid as to never check if it were in neutral... I base some of it on the fact that when the alarm was blaring at 1030pm down my street I was all in a frenzy rushing up my yard, threw the kickstand down, jumped off the bike, got the remote and turned it off. I then just pulled in the clutch and rolled it into the garage. From then on, my mind was thinking in more complex terms of why it wouldn't start in relation to WHY did the alarm go off while I was driving it...

So.... that is why... It wasn't in neutral. I'm just going to go end myself now.
