That sounds like a great idea!

I figure the individual responsibility part was already covered by the insurance requirement to ride helmet-less in Florida.

(b) Notwithstanding subsection (l), a person over 21 years of age may operate or ride upon a motorcycle without wearing protective headgear securely fastened upon his or her head if such person is covered by an insurance policy providing for at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries incurred as a result of a crash while operating or riding on a motorcycle.
Looks to me like Mr. Road Pizza is solidly covered and his family isn't responsible for shit. But, your idea was good too.

See I think to get better stats they'd have to reinstate the law and get numbers for the next three years and see if fatalitites go down. Otherwise the numbers seem useless.

It would only be useful data if a graph of registered motorcycle/motorcycles on the road were placed with it. I guarantee a direct correlation.

Why is this topic hot right now anyway? The helmet repeal law was put in place back in 2000. It's 2005, nearly 2006 people.

i think it has to do with all the idiots speeding around and dying lately. i guess everyone forgot they were wearing their helmets and still died anyway.

don't ride like a dick, and you significantly lower your risk of getting injured. can't account for the other fucktards on the road, but it can't hurt to not be one of them.

my thought is, shut the fuck up and ride! we let the government get too involved in every day activities.

For me personally its because I'm at work, bored, and there's no alcohol in front of me.

Nothing more true has ever been said on TR. I'm bored, at work, and come to think of it, I have half a flask of Jack Daniels on the back of my bike!
