When you first got a bike, or a new bike.. how long before you were comfortable on it? Im still getting used to my 600, but it seems slower now for some reason. The last couple days I finally got it up to 13Krpm, and took it to 130mph today riding with my boss and his 900 Ninja.
about 10 mins in rideing speed,
but man i use to get fucking cramps like a bitch on the rag, that lasted about 2 months

Getting 100% comfortable takes me some time. I'm one of those people that prefers to feel out the entire bike so I know my limits etc....After riding the 500 around for so long the f4i will keep me happy for a LOOOOONG time. The Ninja was easier to get comfortable on of course. Sucks not being able to put my feet flat on the ground on the f4i but a dogbone might be in my future. I don't think I'll ever get sick of the 600 nor will I ever feel the need for a 1000.

What is a dogbone? I think my 600 is already slow. My Z is nearly as fast as the bike, and will be much faster when i get the new turbo on it.
However I love the bike, and the feeling I get after sitting at a light.. when the wind takes to your back and cools you off. it's like AC in a car.. it's wild. I get so excited when I see another rider and they wave at me or nod. (yeah Im a fucking noob). I've been thinking about modding the 600, maybe throwing a 35 shot on it... but my boss had a better idea. When I get the Z the way I want it, why not sell the 600 and just buy a liter bike. So I think I'll do that, and upgrade it. the feeling I get riding on a non-congested road. Able to sprint to 120 or higher mph in just a few seconds. Laying down on the bike, it almost feels like you're a part of the machine. Almost like I, under my own power, are accelerating so fast. It's wild to say the least.

The Z with the new turbo (not the same one you raced) felt so much faster then the bike does. I respect the bike, and when I start to feel uncomfortable, I switch things up a bit, I raise the gear, or I just plain slow down. I havent taken the bike to it's full potentencial(sp- im drunk) yet.
I love the bike, and would hate to wreck it. My own safety not withstanding. I could give a fuck weather I lose control or die.
Im in it for the thrill. I love it, and would hate to lose control for the simple fact as it wouldn't be as pretty as it is now.
Some chick actually made FUN of me in Albertsons today. She called me "space racer". Which was weird. being as I was in my white jacket, and gloves, and was carrying the helmet. Im not sure what she was laughing at. Maybe it was my short hair?
Either way. if I go out. It wont be from stupidity. It will be from someone else fucking my day up. Which isn't under my control.... so Im not worried about it.

i guess thats about the best way to look at it. and i won't lie about the slow thing. i went out and got the fasted thing i could for about 3k because i knew i'd be sick of a 600 in no time and kill myself. with this older 1000 i've been on it about 7 or 8 months and 1st gear still feels fast.
but even with that said i was on patterson a few nights after i got it and was like damn i know nothing about getting a bike around a corner. i know it sounds lame but i had to go buy a book to learn enough to transfer what i know about driving cars to the bike world.

I'm the same way, accept my boss has been riding for years, and has a 1000F CBR and a 9xx Ninja, and he's taught me a lot in the last week. I love riding, and wish I could just turbo or spray the 600, but in the end it's just not worth my time. So the Z will be getting the largest streetable turbo, and will be a track-mostly car. The CBR will be my DD until I get tired of it, and get a car with AC. Prolly a 2000+ LS1.
