Why dont people have Bike alarms?

because most people don't pay attention to them and the theifs can just pick the bike up and be gone before it goes off. unless you have the lojack gimmick on it, it is pretty much a waste.

i have a viper alarm. its not really a waste, i mean it has starter kill and a mercury tilt sensor, so it will go off if it is being lifted. And it came with leds in the front the have a certain pattern to tell you if someone was fucking with ur bike.
oh yea, and the siren is loud as shit!

Ive always wanted one (since I have no insurance)...
But my bike is kept in a garage overnight, so its not really that much of a necessity. Plus if I put anymore money into my bike, its gonna be for a PC first.

I am in debate currently for saving for bike, sidearm, and a PC for my car, heh
I have a garage too but the alarm is moreso for leaving it parked somewhere that I go. like if I started using it to go to work, etc.

i think the viper comes with the battery tender. i know mine has a secondary power source in case the battery wires are cut.
