Default Where did you learn to ride?

Who taught you the basics of bikes, shifting, riding, maintainence, etc. etc.

I would like to finally pursue my dream of getting a bike and would take the MSF course but I am not sure if they go over the noob stuff too.

thanks!

On dirt bikes. It doesnt hurt as much WHEN you crash. I think they have a complete beginner class though

Around my neighborhood.

The beginner course is truly that. From what I've heard that is a great way to start.

Ha. My friends were like "here do this and go". (in an apt complex) It worked though!...The first time I fell off because I hit the kill switch (They said "in case of an emergency)...and well, I came up to a speed bump hit the kill switch, and lost all power to the wheels and fell straight over like a dead horse. Hahaha As a matter of fact, I learned in second gear and was under the impression that First gear was UP rather than down.....they weren't really paying attention when I learned.

The course helped me improve my cornering skills (as far as looking through the turn and all of the other stuff that makes you a better rider). I don't know if I could've taken the course without knowing ANYTHING about the bike. Too many people and too much pressure.

If i recall on one of the msf coarse web sites it say all you need to know how to do is ride a bicycle and they take care of the rest but if you know somebody with a dirt bike or 4 wheeler that would be a plus to learn on. Take it easy and NEVER THINK TO YOURSELF "" I GOT THIS"" NOPE you will eat pavement!!

dirt bike and on/off enduros. Friends taught me on their dirt bike when I was like 8. If you are tying to learn for the street it is a different world. Learn to ride first then learn to survive the street riding. As Cecil would say ATGATT!
