it was a joke first of all but in all seriousness, at 19 owning a bike shouldnt be a dream. It should be a WANT, a dream should be something like get a kick ass job so I can buy however many bikes I want. That is a DREAM and GOAL.

Just get it, and tell her you are taking all the safety riding course and that you dont plan to daily drive the thing.

Dont buy a new bike if its your first. Ive ridden dirtbikes and streetbikes are a whole different animal. Buy a beater because you will drop it.

So your Mom is ok with having a dead son living out of the house?

yes. i remember meeting you and you're not a big guy. the reason i never dropped my bike while learning to ride is that the few times i fucked up at low speeds, i was able to put both feet down, and i was strong enough to keep that bitch off the asphalt. while i disagree that everyone drops their bike when the first start riding (it's been two years for me and no drops), everyone comes damn close.

yeah, i've been through it all. here's what i did. I saved up enough for my own place, got some roomates, moved into the excellence (around usf), sold my stealth, and had everything I wanted. I was 19 at the time, my parents eventually found out when they had to pick me up in the hospital after i ruptured my spleen on faulkenburg doing ninety into the dead end side... ( i know i know i know). In my defense i didn't see the dead end sign at all because it was so shot up with shot gun holes and stuff. that was a while ago and I finally got up the money again to buy another bike so now i'm rolling on a 04 636. I'm a lot safer now. although preoccupied with wheelies instead of high speed cornering. Long story short, my parents aren't disowning me or anything, they are mad but... whatever I like riding and my parents are boring as hell so you just gotta do what you want. and stay in school.
