do any of u guys know how dealerships go about selling bikes and if u have to have insurance,, my friend told me that you dont have to have insurance on a bike unless the bike cost over 10grand ,, im looking to get a 600 cbr or gsx-r can u guys give me some info on financing a new bike and if i have to have insurance or not and the bikes only around 8600 i think

not carrying at least COMP/BIL and Prop Damage is just stupid IMO.......Depending on the financing setup of the make you go with you may or may not need full coverage.....typically they set you up with a credit account and <10k does not require insurance...also run a search on this forum..... this question has been asked 50 times...

Looks like you will be getting a gixxer. Honda requires full coverage insurance on all financed bikes. Your friend is pretty much correct on the 10 grand part...

for that type of bike and you only being 18, insurance is going to be super expensive even for just liability! i always recommend getting at least bi/pd and comp though still.
