i recently got a 4stroke yamaha 426 in a warrior frame. i've been riding 2strokes forever this is my first 4stroke and i can't start the F'n thing

i've tried with the choke on and with the choke off. gas on gas off. i know it's not the bike because the guy i got it from started 1st kick right in front of me and i rode it around the block, so it's user error.

i also am pulling the decompresion lever right at the top of the stroke and releasing before i kick it. any help would be great.

 

big bore four strokes are a biatch...you have to just keep kicking.....if nothing happens check for spark and see what color it is...i think the lever your pullin is sometimes called a hot start cuz four strokes are even more of a pain in the ass when they are hot...... just keep kickin man sorry i wasnt of much help but i only ride 2 strokes.

 

i'm talking about the decompression lever. there is a hot start pull plug as well. the decompression lever is to release the pressure inside so you can kick the freakin' thing over with out it you'd break your damn foot.



i'm starting to miss my Cr that will probally change once i ride it. thanks anyway.

 

why don't you call up the guy you bought it from?? just my thought

 

i called the guy i got it from. he was helpful but he could only do what he could do over the phone you know. and i got it running

between the exaust and the jet kit in it if you kick it over with the gas on it floods. leave the gas off and it starts with the gas left over in the carb, flip the gas on and your ready to jam!

this bitch hauls ass.

i had a 426 and could kick 1 st time .i live in holiday. if u live near me i will come show u how to start it

 

Never blurp the throttle like a 2stroke while trying to start it, you will most definatly flood it.

 

thanks for the help everyone. i figured out the no-blurp on the throttle thing.and i can start this prick on the second kick almost everytime. i love this thing but i still miss my Cr, i want 'em both.

cecil we usually ride on sundays. there is a place by 50 and u.s. 19 that is free to ride and it's got tons of different terrain. what ever your into and it's pretty big to. i'll start a thread about a week in advance and i would love some new people to ride with. i need to put rear brakes on and two of the custom motor mounts are cracked in the middle. they were made out of aluminum so i need some one to fab me up some out of steel any body have a good person they work with? i am in north pinellas. any machine shop should do it but i like to do business on word of mouth if possible.

i just finished the the top end and it runs to sweet..we need to go ride sometime. i only know of croom so i def. want to ride other places.....let me know.
