There currently is a production AWD motorcycle, 2005 YAMAHA WR450F-2-TRAC. It's not currently available in North America but is available through gray market importers for around $12,000 USD.

The gearbox output sprocket drives a short, fully enclosed chain to a pump, which in turn pushes the oil (not hydraulic fluid) to the front hub via the pipe and back via the parallel pipe. There's no drive at all until the rear wheel starts to spin and only a maximum of 15% of the power goes to the front at any time.
According the reviews of the 2-TRAC it really only showed any potential advantage in deep sand. I honestly doubt a system such as this would have any real-world application on a street bike.

why couldn;t you do a wheelie with awd you prob couldn;t pull off burn outs but yeah the point of awd would be to get faster track times and have less worry bout slipping out in the corners cause the front would start to pull you through if the rear slipped I think
