Default Rider Down in St. Pete

Today in st pete a guy on a new, blue and white r6 was going about 70 mph on 16th street near 46th avenue, (about 10 this morning) and broadsided a mini van, me and a friend went down there to see what happened and saw his bike laying in the middle of the road in about 500 pieces, he hit the van so hard it spun the van around in a 180, knocked the rear wheel completely off the van and caved the side in real bad.
he had a jacket and helmet on but we were talking to an officer and he told us that he died in the hospital just a little bit ago. I think his name was kyle, if anyone has anymore information please post up. so everyone say a prayer for his family and ride safely.

Sadly... this seems to be the trend over the past several months...

Very sad.

Prayers sent.

Please be careful.

This is the second thread I've read on TR lately about bikers doing down. Though I know neither of the two personally, RIP guys. I feel for their families and friends and have no idea the feeling of loosing a loved one.

To all the riders out there, look at both cases and from what we've been told, look at the two constants in each tragedy. Slow it down in the city, ride smart, ride safe, and be careful.

This is the second post i have read , yet if everyone posted fatalities of biker accidents in the tampa bay area , we would over load the bIke forum.. Mymothers a nurse in tampa , and i was told there were 11 deaths in the last 3 months due to bike accidents in tampa alone.....I know the odds are by far against us on the road , but I have been riding less and less with the larger groups of riders because there are too many beginners getting on bikes they cant control and have no where near the experience necessary to manuever them.. Like i said , the odds are against us already , beginning riders , dont make the odds greater , start small and gain experience , then move up.. Got a friend never been on a bike before who just recently purchased a TL.....This has alot to do with the number of accidents increasing in my personal opinion.

RIP to Kyle who passed...

Everyone, please know your limits, I know a lot of these situations the rider probably couldn't do a thing but please be aware of your surroundings, If even it means riding around with your High Beams on and honking the horn, make sure those Mofo's see your ass!

Agreed. The thought crosses my mind when I hear these stories or see graphic pictures... but at the end of the day I just love riding too much. Be careful out in traffic guys, so many people can't drive or can't see us.
