Suzuki Hayabusa discontinued in 2007
MCN 4-1-2005
citing slowing sales and loss of the "king pin" status to BMW, Suzuki US today announced the 2006 model year will be the last for the Hayabusa. Sales of the GSXR1000 have eclipsed the GSX1300r for the third year running. [Suzuki] feels that the sport touring market is softened up to the point where the needed retooling does not justify cost. Using forward looking financial models [Suzuki] has predicted that their will be further breaks in current sales trends. "Hayabusa models are taking up too much floor space, It was a good run but now it's time to move on"

Does it affect you that much that some random guy 1500 miles away went and paid his own money for a 1000?
Do we really have to fight over who uses the back brake or not?
Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

The 2005 models are still esentially 1998 technology and being surpassed be the newer generation bikes like the 2005 GSXR1000 and ZX10R.
However, I am not sure what is meant by a softening market...
IMHO the Busa appears to be a very popular bike that continues to sell... especially with us old guys who want a confy ride coupled with lots of power.
I will hate to see the Big Busa dissappear...
but like the article stated... it has been a good run.
...reminds me of the V-Max...

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”
