I just ordered my new chain,sprokets,and clutch how about we put those new tools to work i wanna learn how i'm a honda tech for a local honda dealer only problem is i work on cars not bikes if you could give me a hand say maybe next week sometime that would be great just need to get it done let me know thanks

Sounds fun.

I am not a motorcycle mechanic.

However, I do have a bunch of tools and enjoy tinkering.

As long as we have our expectations set correctly (understanding that I am not a legitimate mechanic, just a jabronie who horses around), I think we can hook it up.

I too need to do chain and sprockets on my bike so this may be a good opportunity to knock out 2 birds with 30 - 40 rounds of buck-shot.

Maybe we can get a few others with some experience as well and make a day of it.

I'd be down to hang out and learn a thing or two about bikes. Im fairly good with cars(Imports, swaps etc)but dont know squat about bikes.

I would be for helping but it would half to be next weekend. I also need a new chain and sproket but does anyone have a chain peaning tool? If not I may go purchase one as I cant stand having stealers work on my bike.

i used vice grips to press the chain link on.

Im not trying to be dick or anything, seriously. But you guys ARE mechanics at a dealership right? Its not an engine rebuild here where you need torque specs and clearances or anything. Just look at the swing arm and you can tell how the sprockets have to come off. And buy a manual for those times when you DO need specs and maintenance intervals. I guess what Im getting at is it appears that there is some sort of aura that bikes and cars are sooo totally different and that one must posess some special knowledge about bikes to perform routine maintenance. Its all put together with nuts and bolts, well that and hella of a lot of loctite.

But I totally understand if its just something you'd rather do with friends than in the garage by yourself cursing and slinging wrenches at shit. HAHA
