Anyone ever think of getting lojack on a bike? Just wondering because bike thieves think they are so damn slick and alot of them amatuers so it would work like a charm. How much is lojack anyways?

problem is, the local law enforcement and insurance companies are hip to people stealing their own bikes for payoff/profit.. so they dont tend to actively pursue anything unless there are positive leads.. Its unfortunate but thats what its come down to. as far as people chopping bikes.. they busted a crew doing it last year..somewhere on the clearwater side.. I look foward to riding again soon myself. hopefully within the next 6 months. But i have many friends who have lost thier bikes do to prick thieves.. and out of id say 10, i only know of ONE that actually got his bike back in running condition.. 2-3 months later..

problem with lowjack is that it is not that easy to conceal a lowjack on a bike..

best defense is to keep it locked in a garage "WITHOUT" the key in the ignition.
and if you have to go into the mall or something.. throw a few master locks through the rotors.. that should at least deter/slow any thieve down..

also if you own a suzuki GLUE your damn ignition harness`s together with superglue.

There's a crew going around stealing a ton of bikes. Stonegat Apts here in Palm Harbor has had EVERY crotch rocket that's left outside taken. Knuckleheads didnt have insurance either so they are out in a BIG way.

Lojacks system is rather antiquated and uses radio frequency to triangulate it's position. The local PD has to have a lojack transciever in a nearby unit to track the device and locations can take up to 3 days. There are better and more instant solutions out there
