Sad to see anyone lose their life.

hopefully this will remind people that just because the light's green, doesn't mean it's safe. look both ways, then look again. every little bit of caution helps.

STEPHEN MEAD, 44
Marden Industries Inc.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Stephen James Mead of Lakeland died Tuesday (Jan. 4, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, of injuries sustained after being hit by a vehicle. He was 44.

Born in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Dec. 27, 1960, Mr. Mead came to Lakeland from Tampa in 1978. He was a machinist for Marden Industries Inc. in Mulberry. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lakeland.

Mr. Mead is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Mead, Lakeland; parents, Bob and Sandra Mead, Lakeland; brother, Jimmy Mead, Lakeland; sisters, Shelly Mead, Lakeland, Robin Sumner, Land O'Lakes.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6725 Green Road, Lakeland.

There will be a group ride to the memorial service beginning at the Marathon on SR54 & Collier.
