Default for those with Gixxers

Im just curious of how many gixxer owners here have done the TRE (timing retard eliminator) mod yet. I did it to my bike about 2 weeks ago and love it. Really all you need to know about it is its the cheapest way($30 bucks for plug and play kit on e-bay) to make your gixxer faster and cure the abrupt throttle. So if you havent done it yet I suggest you do so. Just tryin to spread the word.

They have a different ignition map for each gear. For 1-4 gear the timing is retarded and w/ the TRE mod it eliminates the retard timing so it gives you more responsive throttle / better acceleration.

TRE - Timing Retard Eliminator
This is also a means to bypass the 186mph restriction.

the only thing is it voids your warranty thats why I got the plug and play kit. That way if I have to take it in to have any work done I can take it off.

You could just get a PCIII and do the same thing and not worry about voiding your warranty.

From what I have read...

The PC is nothing like the TRE Mod. The PC remaps fuel and the TRE deals with your timing. So if you want full potential, use both.

As for doing it yourself...here's a link:

PCIIIR does both in a stand alone unit.
