Question What Octane do you run in your Bike? Why?

Oddly enough today I heard from someone that they use 89 octane for street use and 87 for the drag strip.
I have always used 93 octane...
The bikes are normally aspirated (GSXR1000 & Hayabusa).
His bikes are fast and he is well respected within the circles of drag racing.

My question is...

What Octane Gas do you run in your bike?

When (if ever) do you change to a different octane gas?

What is your logic behind this?

93, because it gets good gas milage, and i dont want to risk lower octanes, for the milage my bike gets, its not worth it

87, cause it's cheaper and I don't notice any difference between it and 93

89 because its what is sugested and my bike has a knock sensore, on the harley i run 87, because no matter what i put in it, it will burn and stick shake and rattle HAHA. The lower octane does give more power, IF the engine does not spark knock or detonate. Higher octane fuels are just slower burning and also less likly to preignite. Someone else chime in if im barking up the wrong tree.

I have always run 93 in mine, except once during one of the hurricanes all they had was 87 so i had to use it and the bike didnt feel as peppy and motor didnt sound as good, no detonation though.....

as high as i can get, usually (93 at least) cause it burns cleaner (better for your engine), gas mileage, it makes a difference in power, noticable or not
