Dang this sucks - I'm hardly ever in Tampa now (I go to UF)...and I checked their site but none of their centers are in Gainesville this sucks looks like I'll have to take it @ the dmv...how is it cost wise @ the dmv, how long is it, and do I need my own bike to take it there or just the helmet, gloves, and jacket ? Thanks again.

I'd use the bike they give you during the class, no sense in dropping your own bike by chance. And 169 is a good price, around here it's like 270.

BTW, I got quoted for insurance. $464 for just liability for a year, and $57XX for full coverage. So of course, I went with neither.

Oh and I wanted to ask where anyone knows of some site where there are specs on bikes hp, etc. If I look on the sites of the manufacturers, they have no hp, torque, etc listed lmk thanks.

I got a 1994 gsx-r 750 as my 1st bike and I'm only 16. I have a lot self control so it worked out perfectly. It was about the same as the newer 600's as far as straight line speed and it weighed 100lbs more. I'd say thats a good choice as long as you take the course and are careful. It really all depends on how much self control you have and how well you can pay attention to others imho

hey bro,
I got a 2005 ninja 500 and am extremely happy with it.
it's only 388 lbs dry and has good throttle responce imo.
it's not the fastest, but it def gets up and goes
I was riding on i4 the other day and pulled up next to a guy on a zx6 and another guy on a gixxer 600, and I kept up with them pretty well

Goodluck with your bike quest

if youre looking for info on kawasaki bikes, see www.kawiforums.com. Stick to the ninja 250/ 500r idea if you can, and if you keep your eyes open, you can occasinally find a 250 in good shape 2000+ for right around 2000-2500. Insurance is cheap. Quoted 1400 for full coverage, 100/300. Get a decent helmet, and gear. See sites like www.helmetharbor.com , or www.kneedraggers.com .

its funny u say that. go look in motorcycle trader the're selling them USED for around what i payed with more miles.. so i dont think i got a bad deal.. i payed more owell i know who rode the bike and less than 1 1/2k miles
