Default Recommended Gear?

OK.. So lets see a list of recommended riding gear, including helmet type, etc.

I'm curious, as a bike n00b, what all is recommended.

Full Face Helmet
Jacket with armor
gloves with some knuckle protection
Some type of over-the-ankle boots

Or are you looking for brands, etc... most of what is out there will work as long as it fits you correctly and is comfortable.

you must wear full race leathers and the top of the line Arai helmet before even stepping out the door... you cant even get your permit without these essentials.

So what is recommended for rain, especially for good flexibility/manueverability?
