BIG ADVICE: always wear ur gear. lid, jacket, and gloves. invest money in good gear. even if u are going aroung the block to pick up a pack of cigarettes or something. my accident happened around the block from my house, i coulda spit in my backyard. i got hit by a car at 45 mph. if it wasn't for my gear i would have no skin on my back/shoulders.

I have been down twice. It hurts, real bad. Learn on a smaller bike as stated earlierand go from there. I have an 02 yzf600 and the newest edition is my 02 Busa. I have been riding for years and to be honest the dirt is the best place to start. Gives you a feel for the rear tires sliding out and helps you get a better feel for terrain. This is just my two cents so make change if so needed.
