Default starting bike

hey ive been scrolling throught all these messages and have been thinkng about getting a bike. I've never rode before but I really want to start. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what bike I should start off with? It doesnt have to be super fast, just quick and easy to handle/control

If youve been scrolling through all these threads then you woulve read a BUNCH of good bikes to start on. I suggest a Gixxer 600. Nice bike and a lot of people I know started with Gixxers. Im sure UrbanGixxer will tell you the same when he gets to comment on your post.

yeah I have heard a lot of good things about Gixxers. Everyone talks about busa's also but I dont think I could even think about riding those just yet. Since I am a rookie who makes Gixxers?

Who ever says start out on a Hayabusa is a MORON! Any 600 would be a descent bike to start learning on, but my number one starting bike for people to learn on is still the SV 650. You dont have all that plastic to worry about "When" you drop it. It's a light and very forgiving bike. The GSXR 600 is a good bike if you want a fat, ugly, slow, handling bike.

Looking for a sport bike or a cruiser? Go get a Honda Shadow VLX or a Honda Rebel. Buy one used, since it'll be about half the price of a new bike. New starter bikes are always a bad idea since you always drop them

GET A BUSA!!!! LMAO jfwy.. Suzuki GSX-R 600 (gixxxer 6) are good bikes.. depends on what your looking for in a bike though.. very agile and easy to manuever.. cbr's are good bikes..(a honda) and yamaha's are good. Personally I don't like the feel of the yamaha bc it seems too skinny for my lankie ass... anyways... SV 650 is also a really good starter not to mention TONS of aftermarkets...

Most people who talk about busas know absolutely nothing about bikes. Hell, most people who HAVE busas know abslolutely nothing about bikes. There is a few busa riders who worked there way up and know the power and how to use it, but other than that, most of those stupid kids you hear say "Man, I'm gonna get a busa" have never ridden, or even done any research on bikes in any way. Personally, I would never go higher than an R1 because I would kill myself on a busa. And even if I didn't, I could never ever unleash the full potential of that beast.

As for a first bike, 600s have plenty of power. Don't let anyone tell you different. Alot of people step it up before they have even touched the full potential of their 600.
