Yep. I was riding back to the shop to get an estimate on my broken car. I passed the shop, and needed a place to turn around. There was lots of construction on that road, and all the driveways were unpaved. I finally found a paved one about a quarter mile down, which was still covered with dirt, but at least it was paved. So I am turning, when some asshole pulls off the curb in front of me, and I swerve into the dirt. Well, dirt and bikes don't mix, and i dropped it. Ate $hit face first, and if i wasnt wearing gloves i wouldn't have skin on my palms. Well, to make a long story short, its all cosmetic but I hate to see her that way. And the asshole who cut me off, well, he didn't even stop to see if I was okay. I came out with only minor scrapes, but my turn signal broke off, and The shifter was bent in. I managed to bend it back, but like I said, the paint suffered the worst of it.

Note to all who drive cars: Mirrors are there for a reason. Use them. Windows are there for a reason. Use them.

 

it happens to the best of us, as long as it goes that's all that matters, i've rode my all crunchy for about 4 monthes now. glad to see ur okay.

It amazes me how bad the drivers are here in FL, and i'm a native! I should be used to this shit by now. Don't forget that we have two eyes, yet somehow most people seem to occupy them with something not on the road.

this stuff happens glad yur cool though if it makes ya feel better i was in N.C. and i was turning around on my gsxr with my girl on the back i went into a gravel driveway and put both of our asses on the ground more embarassing then anything........ so it is gonna happen at least it was fairly soft and nutin is broken!

 

Almost happened to me the other day on fowler...some chick changed lanes without looking where 275 comes off and you have you own lane, well she just came into my lane and I ended up having to ride up onto the curb and back down, almost bit it but not quite...your lucky....

Glad to hear your okay. It's probably gonna happen a few more times, so get use to it.

 

Finally got my frame sliders installed. I had to cut the fairing, which is why it took so long to do. Hopefully if I drop it again, these will save some of the paint. Also got some turn signals installed, only 8.99$. They can't even be seen unless they are blinking. They are the kind that are made to stick to a car's rear view mirror. I bought some and wired them up to the bottom of my seat.

 

Bummer!
