I have a 2003 RR for sale; here is the deal on the bike. I was going to build it up as a track machine, but ended up wanting to title/tag it for the street, and ended up hitting a dead end. The bike is totally rideable the way it sits, it's just not able to be titled. I bought the frame off a race team a while back; they called it a 'race blank,' no stamped numbers, no VIN sticker, just a blank frame. Maybe with some leg work you could get it titled, but best bet is to find a clear titled frame, eBay or what not, and swap it over. Everything works perfect, bike rides fine, the front end has a bit of a knock in it, but I believe it’s just the bearing races in the head tube, but I can’t confirm this, as I haven’t had a chance to take it apart yet. The bike sits naked, I started rattle canning some of the fairings, but as I mentioned, I ran out of usable time on the bike, the other fairing pieces are either primer or that blue color on the 03’s. I want to note that this bike is totally complete, it may be missing some of the bolts/clips for the fairings, but all the hard parts are there. It would make a perfect track bike, as it’s already assembled, and you don’t have to fix anything to get it into running condition. I have an idea for a number I’d like to get for it. It’s not a whole lot, but it’s easily what its worth if you were to part it out after you buy it. Email me with any other info or specific pictures you need.






Btw, the engine/cluster has about 8500 on it and as I mentioned, runs great. Just shoot me an offer if you are interested; just keep in mind that you will need to trailer it home. Thanks

Is the knock coming from the engine or suspension? Loud, hard?

 

no no, engine is perfect. i was just down there now, and i took a look the front end, and i'm almost 100% that it's the head tube bearing races. the bearings looked ok, i guess i neglected to check the races. front end is straight though, fork tubes are straight. but no, no knock from the engine, she runs great.

i should note on here, this is a complete bike, i have all the fairings for it, every piece, some are primered, some are painted. but it's a totally complete bike, just missing some bolts/clips for the fairings themselves...
