Default am i in street mod?

hey, i dunno if this has been posted, I did a search but came up a little more confused than before....

I put a flywheel and clutch on my car, but then added an aftermarket turbo. It's a genuine subaru factory turbo, I don't know if that matters. I have a fully replaced suspension and will probably run on slicks.

Would this combo put me in SM? what kind of cars would be put in whatever class I would be put in? I've was put in sts before the turbo, that was at the fairgrounds and I don't believe their tech is the most stringent.

First things first... the purpose of tech is a basic safety inspection to ensure that your car is relatively safe for competition (tires aren't corded, brake fluid at proper level, battery secure, throttle return spring functional, etc...) It is the driver's responsibility to class themselves and ensure that they are in the proper class. (I'll spare you the quote from the rulebook... you can find it in another thread..... )

As far as classing goes... it would help to know what kind of car it is... engine displacement too... and can you define 'fully replaced suspension'... (have your suspension pickup points moved?

Oh yeah, spend the 15.00 on the rulebook... it's well worth it...

good call...by suspension I meant I reaplced all sway bars, and bushings, but all are of the original geometry. Added front and rear strut braces, rear droplinks.
it's an impreza 2.5 rs...2.5 liters.

The only reason I ask is because I've only been to like 4 auto-x's and want to really get into it more, but I haven't received my scca rulebook yet. I ordered it like a month ago, so i'll have to call them back.

THanks for clearing up the tech though. I'd hate to go to a crowded auto-x and look like a noob tard. so i'll just do it on this board

i dont know about the aftermarket turbo but i know that the flywheel and suspension mods would put you in the street prepared class, now the only thing that could move you out of the sp class would be the turbo and im not sure if that does or not.

Define "slicks".

You're either in Street mod, or E-mod. Street Mod allows DOT race tires, such as Kumho Victoracers, Esctas, or hoosier A3SO3's.

E-mod allows full "slicks", from goodyear, hooiser, etc. E-mod also allows you to strip the interior, which street mod does not.
