1990 round at Road Atlanta. Points leader Tommy Kendall starts on the pole in his ICI Chevrolet Beretta, seeking his third straight victory. Young Scott Sharp starts second in an Oldsmobile, followed by Ron Fellows, Chris

Kneifel, Darin Brassfield and Irv Hoerr. Notables Paul Newman and Lyn St. James are in the field, along with current car owners Scott Lagasse Sr. and Jim Derhaag. Bob Varsha and Elliott Forbes-Robinson call the action

for ESPN, with Phil Van Horn in the pits for the eighth race of the 1990 season. Kendall went on to win the championship, beating out teammate Kneifel by 98 points.
